Wedding Wednesday: Organizing Your Vendors

|

This is the third Wedding Wednesday post!

So far, we’ve talked about fun reception guest question cards and notes for your out-of-town guests’ welcome bags. Today I wanted to talk a bit about organization in your wedding planning. There’s no doubt – I was extremely organized when it came to planning our wedding a couple years ago. I had to be!

Bjorn and I had a 10-month long engagement, and in more than one way, those 10 months flew. We were crazy enough to plan our wedding AND get married during our first year of teaching (which is a stressful time anyway), so it was crucial that I was very organized and on top of things. Also, anyone who knows me knows that I research my options like crazy when I have an important decision to make!

I was told by more than one vendor that I was the most organized bride they had seen 😉 I lugged around a massive blue binder with tabs for everything (a planning personality’s dream!). It was important that I didn’t let any task or due date slide by.

This especially meant that I had to keep our vendors straight. We had a swing band to work with, a swing dance instructor, the local landscape arboretum, the bakery, the seamstress, the wedding dress shop, the photographer, the videographer…the list went on and on!
