Our 4th of July Weekend
Hey friends, and happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th! We really enjoyed our Independence Day weekend in rural/small-town Minnesota. It was filled with good conversation, great food, and we got to enjoy live music and canoeing (yes, there are awesome lakes out here among these fields!!) and fireworks! It was a blessing to have a lot of family members around or in town for the holiday. Here are some snapshots from our patriotic weekend:

^^ We spent a lot of time sitting by (or on!) the lake, chatting with relatives, and – of course – picnicking! ^^
^^ We got to see Bjorn’s cousin’s girlfriend sing live on the 4th! Check out The Salty View’s Acoustic Review! They are awesome! 🙂 ^^
^^ We took turn after turn paddling the canoe way out on the lake!! It was too fun. 🙂 ^^

^^ and this is where we got to watch the fireworks and eat ice cream sundaes! It was the most incredible fireworks finale I’ve seen yet! ^^

Our day was really relaxing! It was rainy here, and we are still in the process of meeting people to BBQ with- so maybe next year it will be a little more exciting! 🙂
Thanks, Amy! I’m sorry it rained where you’re at! But I’m glad it was relaxing and peaceful nonetheless. I love it when holidays don’t feel crazy – just peaceful. 🙂 Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise that you get to spread out more fun get-togethers with friends over time now! 🙂 Happy year-and-a-half anniversary, by the way! It is so fun that you got married on Jan. 4 – that’s my birthday! 🙂

Thank you, Madison! The tray of berries was super fun and easy – we passed it around for dessert at one of our family picnics 🙂 I got the idea from Country Living Magazine. It was fun being on the water! Although I grew up near lakes, I didn’t grow up with a boat so it’s fun that my father-in-law has a canoe! Hope you guys had a fun, special, and relaxing 4th! 🙂
