What I’m Looking Forward To In November:
Launching into the holiday season as a family of 3! Holidays are so much fun when they involve family and special traditions, so I’m so excited to be celebrating it all with our little Sophie girl this year! I want to be intentional about some of our traditions – they’ll create great memories for our little one over the years. I ordered some Advent cards (to hang up each day in December) that go along with Sophie’s Jesus Storybook Bible, so I’m really looking forward to using those. Of course, I’m also looking forward to decorating for Christmas…and wondering how soon I can start doing that and get away with it! 😉 I’m ordering our Christmas cards through Minted this year — oh, how I love them! – and I’m excited to write our Christmas letter as well! (PS – has anyone seen the new Hearth + Hand line by Joanna Gaines at Target?! I want to buy it all!)
Some of the teachers from the school Bjorn and I teach at are throwing a baby shower for Sophie. I am so touched! It will be fun for her to meet people at our workplace. 🙂
Watching Sophie grow, of course! I read that her first intentional smiles will happen at 6 to 12 weeks, and she’s 3 weeks old now, so that will be super special once she starts smiling (on purpose) back at us! 🙂 She is growing and learning more each day already – it’s incredible!
Visiting my parents. Of course, Sophie has already met my parents, but this month, when Bjorn has army training, Sophie and I will come up to my parents’ place as well. I look forward to having her stay at her grandparents’ house for the first time! That will be a fun weekend.
Getting into a routine. Check back with me at the end of November and see if this ever really happens, haha. But I’m looking forward to at least trying to feel like a routine is happening. I thrive on routines! We’ll see how much this happens – life with a newborn is already teaching me a lot of flexibility!
What are you looking forward to this month?
I’m also really excited for the Christmas season this year! I was super sick all of last December (plus into January) so I feel like I really missed out on my first married Christmas. And the Hearth & Hand line…. I can’t handle it! Oh and by the way, Target is offering a 10% military discount through November 11th to include Reserves and Guard members. Just in case you need another reason to shop the Hearth & Hand line! 🙂
