Pregnancy is filled with so many unknowns, especially when you’re expecting your first child! I think it’s particularly overwhelming in this day and age, when we have immediate access to literally millions of sources on the subject of babies and parenting. Any time I hop on the Internet and type a question I have into the search bar, I’m instantly barraged by countless opinions shouting for attention!
In order to take the guesswork out of the picture, I like to turn to others who have been there before me (thank you, friends who I’ve been able to ask my crazy questions!), or those who have trusted products out there.
I’m super excited about today’s post, because I am already a big fan of these products! I’m already eagerly imagining life with our little baby girl this October, and I’m really looking forward to seeing her use these products in her everyday life!
Today I’m sharing a fun round-up of some great baby products. I’m very glad I have these around – it is such a nice step in planning for baby girl’s arrival in October!
New Mom Product Round-Up
1 // DockATot. DockATots are a multi-functional lounger, co-sleeper and playtime lounger. You’ve probably seen photos of them around on Instagram! They are just beautiful.
^^ Ginger the Bear gets to test out a lot of things in our nursery these days. I think she likes it, don’t you? 🙂 ^^
You can get a DockATot in one of two sizes (Deluxe for 0-8 Months, Grand for 9-36 months — our baby girl will start out with the Deluxe size) and it creates the perfect micro-climate for little ones! DockATot material is breathable, 100% cotton. Each DockATot is handmade in Europe (it was designed in Sweden) and are OEKO-TEX certified.
I just love how aesthetically pleasing they are – don’t you? I’m already thinking the Grand size would be wonderful to own, as well, since it is perfect for that tricky toddler bed transition time. It is so exciting hearing from people I know, too, who absolutely love their DockATot and find that their baby takes great naps in it! I just wish I could get a DockATot in my size! 🙂

2 // Finn + Emma garments. Ooh, I am so excited to dress our little girl in Finn + Emma clothing!! It is so, so soft and beautiful! This company has a variety of really neat products, including clothing, toys, and blankets.
The garments themselves are made with buttery soft, G.O.T.S. certified organic cotton and non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes. It’s so nice to know I’m dressing my little one in something that is non-toxic. The snaps are cute, too, and feature real coconut inserts – plus, they’re lead/nickel-free!
The clothing has a more generous fit, so that it can be worn for longer, and also so it can actually accommodate cloth as well as disposable diapers well!
This little bird teether is one of my new favorite additions to baby’s nursery! Isn’t it gorgeous? It features a phthalate-free rattle inside. All of the Finn + Emma wood toys are actually made from untreated Indian hardwood, finished with vegetable seed wax, and filled with little beans.
I’d love to get a hand-knit toy from Finn + Emma someday, too – they are made by an artisanal women’s collective in Peru with G.O.T.S. certified organic cotton yarn and wool stuffing. This company also makes muslin blankets in bright beautiful colors, wooden play gyms, and corresponding play mats to go with them! The fact that all of these products are organic and eco-safe is an added bonus and breath of fresh air. I’m definitely a big fan of Finn + Emma already!
3 // The Ollie Swaddle (known as “The Smarter Swaddle”). Confession time: I have no idea how to swaddle a baby. I was a good nanny and babysitter, but I guess I just never learned the art of swaddling. I hope to figure it out at some point, of course, but there may be no need to, thanks to The Ollie Swaddle!
I wish you could reach through the computer screen and feel how amazingly soft this material is! It’s custom moisture-wicking material, which helps reduce the risk of overheating.
See the velcro? There are several different wide velcro strips on this swaddle, giving it a custom fit. Thank goodness that The Ollie Swaddle allows the fit to be individualized to meet different babies’ needs!
Since it’s one size, it promotes ease with transitional stages, and diaper changing is made easier through the opening at the bottom. I’m really eager to snuggle up with our little girl, and swaddle her with this Smarter Swaddle!
