My Nightly Hydration Drink Recipe

I don’t share recipes on my blog very often these days, but I finally felt that this one deserved its own blog post! I’ve been making this drink every evening for at least four months now. I love its refreshing taste, and the extra hydrating benefits of it are a great bonus!

This drink is a little concoction I came up with, because I love Spindrift (flavored sparkling water) so much but I wanted to add in a couple other things that would help to hydrate me better as a busy (and nursing) mama! It’s simple and has a slightly unique taste to it if you’re not used to drinking coconut water, but it quickly became a favorite of mine and now I actually crave it every night!

What You Need

  • 1 can of Spindrift sparkling water (any flavor, but my all-time favorite is Raspberry Lime! Also, there are many sparkling water brands out there, but after trying lots of them, I remain convinced that Spindrift is the best! I love how they squeeze actual fruit into the sparkling water to make it!)
  • Coconut water (I buy VitaCoco Coconut Water with Pineapple in a 32-oz. carton from Walmart, and keep it in the fridge to use all week)
  • LMNT electrolyte drink mix (any flavor, but I usually have Watermelon on hand because it’s my favorite)
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra large mason jar
  • Straw (I have these stainless steel ones)

Directions

I typically grab an extra large mason jar (one that holds 3-4 cups) for this drink.

Fill your large glass about 1/3 of the way with ice cubes. Pour in your can of Spindrift.

Add in a generous splash of coconut water on top – about 1/2 to 3/4 cup.

Here’s the fun extra part: add in a sprinkle of LMNT electrolyte drink mix powder! I keep a pouch of LMNT drink mix in a small Ziploc bag for this purpose, and that’s what I reach for every night when I make this drink. (I also drink a whole pouch of the LMNT drink mix earlier in the day; this little bit of LMNT powder is just a fun add-in for this evening drink.)

Give your drink a thorough stir (to dissolve the drink mix), and you’re all set! Enjoy!

You can have fun experimenting with various Spindrift and LMNT flavors, too!
