Life recently, via my iPhone

I love the practice of taking pictures daily. I love the fact that it encourages me to find the lovely, the rich, the wholesome parts of life right where I stand. And I love how the magic of sharing pictures provides us with such an authentic glimpse into daily life. Here are a few snapshots taken on the good ol’ iPhone these past couple weeks:

stealing my husband’s Saturday morning coffee 😉
Our goal is to spend time every evening curled up with a good book. We’ve been fairly consistent with this. If I’m not working on a new novel, I fall back on this standby – and my favorite author of all: James Herriot.
I don’t talk about it much, but we have a 75-gallon African Cichlid tank, which we absolutely love! These fish are our first pets besides Bjorn’s many cacti 🙂 and we enjoy watching them and caring for them. We do not have a TV (nor do we want to purchase one for quite some time, if ever??) so this lovely tank is in a place of prominence in the living room. We love it, and the peaceful focus a fish tank brings to a room, in place of a television with shouting commercials vying for our attention. 🙂
new sweater. <3 this texture!
One of our new oil lanterns. They add such an enchanting glow to the living and dining rooms! What can I say – we’re old souls 🙂 Plus now we’re prepared for possible power outages! 🙂
A Barnes & Noble date: dreaming of/learning about dogs and American military history… typical. 🙂
Saturdays, coffee, with this man.
sooo excited that my Darling magazines arrived!!!

God’s promises are as evident in His sunrises as they are in rainbows, to me. “See, I am making all things new!”
Gregory Alan Isakov. Vinyl. Enough said.

Happy Friday, friends! I hope you’ve had a full, happy, productive week! May this weekend bring you rest – the kind that you emerge energized from!

PS – I’d love to see your daily life snapshots! Leave your link below 🙂

    1. Thanks, Becky!! 🙂 that’s funny! I guess you get the coffee all to yourself then! I usually don’t drink coffee during the week but I do enjoy it on a slow weekend morning 🙂

    1. Aw, thank you, Miriam! It’s one of the joys of carrying a phone around all the time like so many people do…we have the opportunity to capture everyday life in a fun personal way!
