April // What I’m Looking Forward To

Today I’m starting a new little series that I’m excited about! I know we’re already a ways into April, but I’ve had this idea for a while and I’m hoping that blogging-wise, I can keep up with it consistently. Might as well start it now!

At the start of the month each month, I’m planning to do a “What I’m Looking Forward To” post and at the end of each month, I want to do a “Recap” post. This is mostly because I feel I’ve really let personal life-update posts slide lately 🙂 And I want this blog to also act as a personal journal or way to document what’s going on in life right now. Let’s jump in!

What I’m Looking Forward To In April:

1 // The warmer weather!! Seriously. Is it just me or are winters in Minnesota incredibly long? For many reasons, these past 6 months or so have felt super long. I’m really excited about the change of seasons and the coming of spring. Technically, it’s spring already, but we’re still waiting for early mornings that don’t make me want to wear a winter coat! 🙂

I’m looking forward to wearing flip flops, and spring cleaning, and having open windows with our lace curtains blowing in the breeze. It will be nice to hang our laundry out on our big clothesline again, too!

2 // Continuing to celebrate my sister-in-law, who’s getting married! Amy’s getting married in July and it is so fun to hear about the upcoming wedding, and see how all the details are coming together! We’re so happy and excited for her and Tyler.

3 // Easter Break. I am sooo looking forward to break. In our school district, we do not get a spring break, so a 4-day-weekend over Easter is going to be such a wonderful gift! I grew up with a week-long spring break every year, and I thought all school districts had a spring break until we started working here. So, even though we don’t get a full week off around here, getting a long weekend is something I’m still really excited about! I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say for all teachers, by the time March or April roll around, we’re totally drained! There is such a push this last quarter of the school year, and so many things seem to be going on.

4 // There’s a fun new project we’ve been working on lately. I don’t want to give it away, but get excited! More to come on that later!

5 // Getting my hair done! I only get my hair colored and cut about twice a year, so it’s definitely time. 🙂 I can’t wait to have a fresh new look. I’m kind of a wimp about trying totally new things with my hair, but at least some fresh color in there and a little less split ends will be nice. 🙂

6 // Watching the show “Heartland.” I got really into that show a year or two ago…but then when I watched all I could for free, I never wanted to start paying to watch the newest season. So, I waited. And finally, the most recent episodes are up on Netflix now! It will be so great!! Have you seen that show? Even if you’re not super into horses, it’s quite good!
