6-Ingredient Amish Goulash.
Might as well stick with the theme of this week, right? π
Last weekend, Bjorn found – and then promptly bought – this awesome little cookbook for me! Who could pass up a book with such a specific, practical title?? π
At first, it was funny (okay, it kind of still is) but after thumbing through the pages, I caught my usual must-cook-something fever.
And so, this non-Amish young lady decided to make something for her young husband – specifically, the easiest and most delicious goulash I’ve found yet!
6-Ingredient Amish Goulash
{adapted from cookbook by Alma Hofflader}
1 lb. hamburger
2 cups uncooked macaroni
8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 can mushrooms (drained)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Cook macaroni and drain. Brown the hamburger with the Italian seasonings (and you can add some garlic here, too, if you want). Stir the cooked hamburger into the macaroni. Add the mushrooms, tomato sauce, and cheese. Simmer until the cheese is melted.
And, that’s it! This makes 1 pot of food – enough for dinner and then some lunch leftovers!
Enjoy with a side of bread and homemade Amish peanut butter spread. π Happy Wednesday!
