Recently we got to spend the day down in Iowa with family, and our adventure for the day was the zoo! We visited the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, and it was a really sweet day! Sophie's favorite part was getting to feed a giraffe, but the whole zoo was all interesting and exciting to her anyway! :) It's so fun because she loves reading about animals at home, but then she gets extra excited when she sees them at the zoo in real life! Sophie and her cousin Mia got to wear matching "sister" … [Read more...]

If you've followed me on Instagram for a while, then you've probably heard me mention Kidizen! :) Oh, Kidizen. It's something I highly, highly recommend to all mamas, because we all know how easily cute baby … [Read more...]
LILLEbaby Carrier: For Small Errands AND Big Adventures
This past summer was FULL of adventures, travels, and outings! It was such a special season because it was our daughter's first summer! I wanted to soak up all of the "summer things" with Sophie, even if she's a bit too young to remember it all. We traveled to Kentucky for 2 weeks (Bjorn had army training), and Branson, Missouri for almost a week, plus other trips to Iowa and to the Twin Cities in Minnesota to visit family. Most of the photos in this post were taken at a monastery we visited … [Read more...]

It's hard to believe it's September already! Here's what life looked like this past month...plus what we're looking forward to! August Recap: Bjorn was gone for army. Basically for all of August, or at least it felt that way! Bjorn was gone for 3 weeks for a more intensive annual training this year. Although I'm used to my husband being busy with his multiple jobs and commitments here at home, I'm still used to him coming home every night! July Recap + What I’m Looking Forward to in August
It's time for another monthly update! Here's a peek at our past four weeks (plus a peek ahead at the month of August)! I honestly considered not doing a recap this month, since it feels like I just did our June recap!! July passed so quickly and a lot of it got mentioned in Sophie's 9 month update. But, I do love journaling about our life this way and I don't want to let the month slide by without acknowledgement. :) So, without further adieu, here's what we've been up to! July Recap: 90th … [Read more...]

It's time for another monthly update! Here's a peek at our past four weeks (plus a peek ahead at the month of July)! June Recap: We celebrated Signe's graduation! Bjorn's sister Signe graduated from college (a whole year early!) at the start of June. Her graduation ceremony was in Las Vegas, and we had been planning on going, but with how things were going with planting season this year, we ended up needing to be at home. However, we were able to watch her walk live online! We hooked it up … [Read more...]
Sophie’s 8 Month Update
Our sweet Sophie B is 8 months old! Here are the updates from this past month! Sophie's 8 Month Update Nicknames: Sophie B, Sophie Bean, BeeBee (probably the most often used one), Honey, Dolly, Bugaboo, BeeBee Brynn :) And the most recent nickname? Sophie-Saurus! Haha. She's been making dinosaur noises as she climbs all over us! Size: I took Sophie in for her next vaccine (we do one at a time) on May 30 (at 7.5 months old), and she weighed in at exactly 15 pounds!! She's definitely … [Read more...]
May Recap + What I’m Looking Forward to in June
These past 4 weeks have flown by! Here's a recap of the month of May, plus a peek ahead at June! May Recap: Planting season is in full swing! Basically, scheduling anything on the calendar in May or June is usually hard for a farming family, haha. Because you never know when the weather will be good and you'll have to be in the field!! By the time this blog post goes live, we'll have a good amount of our soybeans planted. I heard on the radio the other day that Minnesota's soybeans are about … [Read more...]
