I love spending time in the kitchen! I get SO much joy out of standing in our quiet, sunlit kitchen, washing strawberries in our farmhouse sink, stirring soup, chopping veggies for curry, or whipping up another batch of oatmeal bars. My husband grew up in a home where they really love spending time in the kitchen together, as well - whether it is spent sitting around the kitchen table chatting about their day, playing games, or chopping up ingredients for a family taco night (I LOVE those!). … [Read more...]
Homemaking Checklists Roundup (+ a Giveaway!)
Over the past few years, I've really been able to hone in on certain, more specific topics for Just Bee. One of my favorite topics to write about lately is the home: creating a cozy home, organizing it, cleaning it, and filling it with love. :) I'd asked my readers a while ago what topics you'd enjoy reading more about and the majority of you said you'd be happy to see more homemaking posts! It was really exciting to see more interest in terms of posts on this topic, since it is something … [Read more...]

How to Set Up a Family Health Journal
Ahh, adulting. ;) Sometimes Bjorn and I just have to pause and laugh about the things we find ourselves talking about on a daily basis. Post-college, married life is full of "adulting" tasks! Discussing our investments is common. Or talking about laundry, or taking out the trash, or mail, or car maintenance... Handling doctor's appointments is another aspect of adult life that isn't particularly glamorous but sure is important! You may have seen the caption go by on my Instagram account last … [Read more...]

I. Love. Weekends. But don't we all? :) For some of you, the weekend means you get to spend time visiting friends or family you don't get to see often. For some of you, weekends mean your husband is home with you and the kids, something you look forward to all week long! Some of you relish weekends for their busyness and for the activities and outings you get to pack into your schedule. I think you can practice simplicity to all sorts of degrees. Here's our story: We don't have a … [Read more...]

Jordan has also shared about establishing routines and hope for midnight mamas. When I found out I was pregnant with our daughter, I suddenly found myself wandering the baby aisles every time I went to Target, dreamily enjoying the little lacy socks and cute little toys (“Why, hello, Sophie the Giraffe!”) … [Read more...]
