I'm back! Boy, I did not plan or expect to step back from blogging for so long. So much has been going on in our life here, as well as in the world, and honestly, I just haven't been able to find the time/mental space to blog! I'm glad to be sitting down today to write (goodness, I even planned days in advance to make sure I'd have this brief time to blog this week!), and I'm excited to be sharing a post that's been on my mind for a while! You've likely heard this before, but my husband and I … [Read more...]
My Postpartum Favorites The Second Time Around
I love this kind of blog post. I always find it interesting to read what other moms have found helpful (or even essential!) with their kids. Of course, you have to evaluate for yourself what will work best for your own family, but my hope is that my sharing these products with you will be both useful and encouraging! There are great items out there that can make the postpartum season even more enjoyable and workable. First, a quick note on this postpartum experience with Soren. As you might … [Read more...]
Our Daily Routine
The last time I shared a peek at our daily life was back in January! Since then, Sophie has grown and matured SO much, I've gotten a better hold on my anxiety, we've found out we're pregnant with our second child (due in late November!), and even more! With all these shifts and changes going on, our schedule has shifted a bit as well. If you love reading others' daily rhythms and routines like I do, then you'll enjoy today's post! I'm including a lot of extra commentary, as is my custom, haha, … [Read more...]
Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea Party (with recipes!)
If you've been around here for a while, then you know I have the tendency to be pretty ambitious with recipes and party planning! The rest of the time, I try not to go "all out" in my everyday life. :) But when I get bit by the party planning bug (and that usually includes the baking bug!), I get really excited. I love the whole process. Today I wanted to share with you what all I made for our Mother's Day tea party! A COUPLE OF OUR PAST PARTIES THAT I LOVED PLANNING:Our Gender Reveal … [Read more...]
Sophie’s 18 Month Update
It's been a couple months since the last Sophie update, so I'm excited to share one today! Our sweet girl is a year and a half today! Can you believe it? Every day, she's acting less and less like a baby and more like a little kid! (It makes me savor those pre-nap cuddle sessions extra these days.) Her most recent updates, if you'd like to catch up: 12 Month Update and 16 Month Update :) Here's what Solveig's been up to lately: Sophie's 18 Month Update: Nicknames: BeeBee, Missy … [Read more...]
Sophie’s 16 Month Update
It's been so long since I've shared a Sophie update here on the blog! I did monthly updates of Sophie's first year of life but I didn't plan to do them forever. :) Her last update post was her one year update. Wow! Of course, if you follow me on Instagram (especially Instagram Stories), then you've seen tons of photos and videos and other snippets of our day-to-day life :) But either way, it feels like it's time to do another more official update post! Here's what she's been up to: Sophie's … [Read more...]
My 25 Favorite Amazon Purchases in 2018
Ah, Amazon. It's one of my very favorite places to buy things! There are some items I just won't purchase from Amazon because they end up being overpriced or not top-notch quality, but for the most part, Amazon is where I turn to when I'm looking for something. We live over an hour's drive away from a Target and 35 minutes from a Walmart. Some days, I make the trek with my one-year-old in tow, but I have to plan for that kind of outing and have the energy for it, haha. :) Therefore, a lot of … [Read more...]
Our Daily Routine
It's high time for another daily routine post! :) The last time I shared a full daily routine was last April, when Sophie was 6 months old! I had been aching for some semblance of predictability - I find comfort in schedules - and I'm happy to say we settled into a great daily rhythm for a long time. However, one of the major components of raising littles is change, and change has certainly happened! Solveig is just about 15 months old now and our days look a lot different from when I shared … [Read more...]
