I'm so excited about today's post! I've been looking forward to sharing this one with you! :) I'm one of three children, and while we were growing up, my mom kept a growth chart ruler hanging in our bathroom to mark down our heights. It is so neat to look back over the years and see how little we once were! It's such a precious keepsake to have around, especially after the kids grow up and move out! Ever since Sophie was born, I've been wanting a similar growth chart ruler in our home, so … [Read more...]

I've enjoyed learning about and studying things for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I would get up early on Saturday mornings and peruse craft books, looking for a fun new project to try. My favorite nonfiction book was (and still is) Children Just Like Me … [Read more...]
Things I Never Thought I’d Have To Say This School Year
Ah, kindergarteners. They are so darn precious...and hilarious....and curious....and wonderful. I don't blog much about teaching (I like to keep that in a separate sphere of my life for the most part), but it really is what I do for so many hours of the day! So, I suppose if I don't take that into account and chat about it here every now and then, then I'm not really giving you the most accurate picture of who I am! I answered some questions about Bjorn's and my jobs in our FAQ section, … [Read more...]
5 Reasons to Establish a Good Routine
I've got my sweet friend Jordan here on the blog again today to continue sharing about motherhood! Jordan is a dear friend of mine and lives with her husband and baby girl, born in September 2015. We became close friends in college and she was my matron of honor at my wedding! I admire her for her gentle spirit, her desire to serve the Lord in all she does, and most recently, her beautiful mother heart. She shared what God has been teaching her in her recent post Hope For Midnight Mamas and I'm … [Read more...]
Just Us: Living the Pre-Mom Life with Intention
I'm getting a bit more vulnerable here on the blog with today's topic of life before kids - thanks for your openness in entering this discussion with me! My husband Bjorn and I really look forward to becoming parents. We are both teachers so we currently spend all day with children! Each day brings us important experiences with hilarious kid stories as well as instructing and disciplining children. Bjorn has had to lovingly correct and guide 12-year-olds, and I've worked through countless … [Read more...]
Blog-tember Challenge | What Are You Passionate About?
It's Friday!! Hooray!! :) Here's how we personally are feeling about today: How has your week been? It's been a full, busy one around here. Bjorn and I just started our back-to-school teacher training and workshops this week, which is a pretty big adjustment compared to our summer schedule! It can be a bit overwhelming to dive right into meetings with teachers, mapping out goals, finding resources, attending trainings…but it's all good things, and I know we will grow accustomed to our new … [Read more...]
A Tale of Two Mothers
A couple weeks ago, we were staying with my parents for Bjorn's monthly army drill. This gave me the opportunity to spend time at a nearby Starbucks (insert all the heart eyes here!) - something I don't get to do very often anymore, so I was thrilled to have a quiet afternoon at my favorite coffee shop. I grabbed my vanilla chai (always iced in the summer!) and decided to sit outside, actually to avoid the ice-cold A/C. :) 1 // Across the way sat a few other people at outdoor tables - a … [Read more...]
