Hi from Fort Knox, Kentucky! Bjorn has some army training this week, so that's what brought us out here. Sophie and I were actually able to accompany Bjorn, which is such a blessing. Sometimes army training means many days apart, and other times, we get to stay together. This week is one of those fun times when we don't have to be apart! We drove to Kentucky from Minnesota over the weekend. It was Sophie's first road trip, and we didn't know 100% what to expect, but we did know we wanted … [Read more...]
“Influencer” Doesn’t Have to Mean “Blogger”
Have you heard of the word influencer? If you're a blogger, then you definitely have. The term gets bounced around a lot in the blogging world! I first saw myself actively described as an influencer quite recently, in the midst of volleying emails back and forth with a company regarding an upcoming collaboration. The brand's contact person I was in touch with forwarded a request to someone else in the company, saying "please send __ to this influencer." It took me a sec when scanning that … [Read more...]
Motherhood: The Most Extreme Makeover
Oh, motherhood. My days certainly look a lot different now than they used to! I'm starting to type this post with one hand as I sit nursing sweet Sophie, but I pause often to stroke her fuzzy head and kiss her hand that always seems to wander up to rest on my throat. I love these moments with her. Before I know it, my daughter is going to be walking, and talking, and then wanting to do things all by herself! So it's extra special that she needs me so much right now. It is also hard. I'm … [Read more...]
4 Stress Relief Strategies From My Husband (+ a $500 PayPal Cash giveaway!)
Even typing the title for this post had me smiling! Perhaps someday. ;) My husband Bjorn is such a "steady Eddy," something I am consistently noticing and am grateful for! To have someone like him in my life has been an incredible blessing. Bjorn doesn't stress the way that many people so often … [Read more...]
Some Reflections On My Birthday!
Today's my birthday!! It always sneaks up on me every year! We've just barely emerged from the happy chaos of the holidays, and we're bumbling along trying to get back into a routine...and then suddenly, I'm another year older! Wow! I turned 27 this morning. I'm officially in my late 20s now, according to my husband. :) (He's 9 days younger than me; he'll be in his late 20s soon enough!) Although I'm a little shocked at how old 27 sounds, I'm mostly filled with gratitude for what the last … [Read more...]

Fighting Fear in Pregnancy After Miscarriage
Today's post has been a difficult one to write. It has taken about a year for me to get more comfortable with sharing this part of my story. While miscarriage will never be an easy topic to write or talk about, I believe there is power and comfort to be found in sharing our personal experiences. Even though we all have different stories, my wish is that me sharing my story can offer you some encouragement and hope in your own journey. ** We now have 2 precious children. If you're interested in … [Read more...]
Trusting God When Plan A Doesn’t Happen
The Inner Drive To Plan I am a planner. (And that's an understatement, haha.) I've been that way my whole life. I LOVED the day we first got our planners in 3rd grade. It was like a dream come true. You mean I could fill this thing out, look ahead at what's coming, and see what all needs to get done?! I was thrilled! I learned that I had the ability to essentially map out my life! Anyone else like that? :) I'm the type of planning personality that can drive a more low-key personality … [Read more...]
