If you’ve followed along with me for a while (whether on the blog, on Instagram, or over on YouTube more recently), you know I’m always looking for ways to create a cozy, wholesome life. I’ve come to love the Scandinavian term “hygge,” which can encompass so much but to me, means “a cozy sense of wellbeing.” … [Read more...]
13 Habits + Rhythms That Make a Big Difference for Me:
I'm such a creature of habit. Are you like that, too? I suspect that most of us are - it's just human nature to gravitate towards what worked well for us last time! While there are times I certainly enjoy diving into something new (usually for me it's a fun new recipe to try), I've found that a good part of my emotional wellbeing - my general "settledness" - relies on peaceful, predictable routines in my daily life. Some of these rhythms have come and gone for me over the years, but as time … [Read more...]
How I Prepped Freezer Meals for Baby #2 (including recipes!)
I'm excited to share this post, now that I've decided I'm officially done with all the freezer meals I want to do! :) If you count each individual meal, I have made 18 meals, plus some grab-and-go breakfast/snack items. Each meal should technically feed our family for more than one meal...so I'm pretty pleased with how this project turned out! :) I prepared a lot of freezer meals back when I was expecting Sophie 2 years ago as well, so this is my second time prepping this way! However, back … [Read more...]
Our Simple Fall Decor
I'm going to tell you right away: even though I'm writing a post about fall decor, our Christmas tree is definitely up in the living room already! :) We decided to set it up early this year, along with our other Christmas decor, because baby boy could come any day and then life will be just a little bit more busy! ;) Anyway, Thanksgiving still isn't for a couple of weeks, and it is still technically fall! We may have snow on the ground here in Minnesota, but I've been enjoying all the fall … [Read more...]
Recent Favorites (food, toddler, clothing, + home)
It's been quite some time since I've shared a favorites post here! I absolutely love reading them on others' blogs, or seeing other women share their favorites on YouTube. If you've followed the person for a while, then it's like getting recommendations from a good friend! :) As always, I only share products that I personally use and actually like! The last favorites post I shared was my May 2019 Favorites! Wow. A lot of life has happened since then, so here are my tried-and-trues from summer … [Read more...]
Recipes We’ve Been Loving Lately (+ a peek at what we’re trying this week!)
Maybe it's pregnancy, nesting, or it's just a new fun "hobby," but I've been really into finding new recipes recently! Some of them have been healthy and some have been...well, not healthy, but definitely still delicious! :) Bjorn was gone for a month this summer for army, and that's when I got a bit carried away with desserts! Hypothetically, it's a little dangerous for me as a pregnant mama to sit home alone with my daughter and a huge batch of raspberry dark chocolate cookies. … [Read more...]
11 Habits That Make a Difference For Me
I sure love my routines. Are you like that, too? I get such comfort out of having predictable, cozy rhythms in my day. While I can't control everything, of course, I do get some security (and joy!) out of the little things I can determine for myself. After learning last fall that I'm going to have to control anxiety in my life, I think these habits and routines have brought me even more comfort! Additionally, routines like these help me to stay productive and not get overwhelmed! 11 Habits … [Read more...]
Sophie’s Book Box (+ a promo code!)
If you know my husband or me at all, then you know we love to read! We love books and we love to learn. One of our favorite things to do is peruse the aisles of Barnes & Noble together, and we find it really really hard to say no to adding a new book to our collection. ;) Bjorn has hundreds of books that he's collected over the years - needless to say, a beautiful home library will be a must in our future home! Even though she's just one, our daughter Sophie loves to read, too! Every … [Read more...]
